Before Rooting we should know about some Major partitions of an Android.
There are six Major Partitions in Any Android Device:-
Basically these are the internal memory partitions.
1. Boot:-
The first partitions is Boot . It is very simple to know about this partition , As the name suggest this partition is used for the booting operation of an Android .
It is a partition of the internal memory which is used for specifically for the botting operation.
If you remove this partition then you are not able to boot your Android .
This partition mainly consists two things
1. Kernel :-It is just a part of OS which can communicate between your Android ROM and the Hardware of Your Android. It is just like a bridge between these two.
It comes up with the compiled-in drivers , where modules are loaded from the Initrd.
2. Ram disk :- It is a standard Linux feature . It is used by the kernel on Boot time , it is read only and used by the kernel.
After you remove this partition then you have to install a ROM which have the boot partition to do Booting of Android.
2. System:-
This the most important partition of an Android .
It basically , gives you the user interface of the Android. This partitions consists the complete operating system which includes kernel , Ram disk and all.
This partition preinstalled in your Android device.
And if you remove this partition , it will remove Android on your device. But still , you are able to do Device on the recovery mode and install a New Rom in the Device.
3. Recovery :-
This is the Third partitions of your Android device.
You can understand this partition, it as the Advancement on the Boot partition.
It is used for the Advanced recovery of the operations in to Your Android device while you are doing the Boot your Android .
4. Data:-
You can understand this partitions in a very appropriate manner .
We all have lots of contacts in to our Android device and we all have lots of messages on our Android Device .
And all the Android users who use their devices too much , they know that they install Various Application in their Android device for gaming or for studying or for banking or many other purposes.
So, All the stuff related to this you do on your Android device have some data .
So, that data or any other data like you have ppts, images or any other data , This data is in this partition of the Android.

The fifth partition of your Android Device is "Cache".

The Cache partition of an Android device is the partition that contains the frequently used Data.
The data which you are accessing on the Device very frequently or your Applications (In your Android device) Data your are using is stored in this partition of the Android .
If you remove this Partition it will never effect on your personal Data .
It will remove the Data which is using very frequently and you will get that data on your Android while you are continuously your Android Device .
6. Misc:-
This Sixth partition of Android consists system setting in the form of On/Off Switches.
These setting mostly useful for the CID, USB configuration and others .
If you wipe out this particular partition from your Android device then some of the files are not going to work normally.
